1. How Data Is Handled
eSAMz prioritizes user privacy through a "Privacy First" architecture. We process your messages in real-time to generate responses and strictly limit data retention.
We do not create permanent user accounts or profiles for general usage. You interact with eSAMz largely anonymously via session identifiers.
2. Session Memory & Cookies
Strict 30-Minute Retention: eSAMz v9.1 uses a temporary session cookie (esamz_sid) to manage your active conversation.
- Short-Term Memory: This cookie and the associated server memory are strictly set to expire after 30 minutes of inactivity.
- Local Storage: Your chat history is saved securely on your device. Even if the active session memory clears, you can still view and reference your past conversations.
- Automatic Wipe: If you stop interacting with the chat for 30 minutes, the server automatically wipes the memory of that conversation. When you return, you will start fresh with a new session ID.
- No Tracking: This cookie is only used to link your current messages together. It is not used for cross-site tracking or advertising profiling.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
We minimize data collection to the absolute essentials:
- Permanent Transcripts: We do not maintain permanent, long-term archives of your conversations once they are cleared from active memory (30 mins limit).
- Voice Data: We do not store voice recordings. Voice input is processed locally or via your browser's speech recognition service.
- Email Addresses: We do not collect email addresses for general users.
Exceptions:
1. If you purchase a Premium license, we store your email to verify your key.
2. If you voluntarily email us for support or partnerships, we retain that correspondence.
- Payment Information: We do not store credit card or payment details.
4. System Logs
Minimal technical logs are maintained strictly for security, debugging, and abuse prevention. These logs may include request timestamps and response codes. Access logs are retained for short periods (typically 48 hours) and are then deleted.
5. Local Browser Storage
We store your chat history locally on your device (using localStorage). This ensures you have immediate access to past conversations while you are viewing the page, without us needing to permanently warehouse them on our servers.
6. Third Party Services
- AI Inference: We use third-party AI providers (e.g., Sarvam AI) to generate responses.
- Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic trends (e.g., "How many users visited today?"). This service collects anonymous usage data and may use its own cookies.
- Advertising: Free users may be served ads via networks such as Google AdSense.
- Infrastructure: We use Vercel and Upstash Redis for hosting and caching.
Third party services operate under their own independent privacy policies.
7. GDPR & CCPA Compliance
eSAMz respects your rights under GDPR (Europe) and CCPA (California).
- Right to erasure: Your data effectively erases itself after 30 minutes of inactivity. You can also manually clear your browser cookies to sever the link immediately.
- No Sale of Data: We do not sell your personal information or conversation data.
8. Children’s Privacy
eSAMz is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from minors.
